Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United America. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company shortly after. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran’s life. The family relied sometimes on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as one who occasionally was a drinker and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially when he'd been drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After flunking several courses during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
